Learn why we’re changing our paint line to Pratt & Lambert Paint!
Dear Friends and Partners,
As many of you are well aware, our stores have begun the conversion away from Parker Paint and Valspar toward a brand, Pratt & Lambert, that we feel gives us the best opportunity to serve you with the quality and value that you have come to expect from us. The frequently asked questions below provide details to help understand why the change was made, and necessary.
What happened to Parker Paint?
Parker Paint was a subsidiary of the Comex Group that was sold to Sherwin Williams. Sherwin Williams decided to confine the Parker Paint line, in limited scope, to their factory stores. Dealers like us are no longer allowed to sell the line after January 1, 2015.
Can we still sell Parker and Valspar Paints?
Beginning January 1, 2015 we are no longer able to restock our Parker Paint inventory and we will be limited to the products we already have on hand. Valspar paint will still be available to us through our dealer network but we will be unable to formulate Valspar colors due to the change in our colorants to match our new Pratt & Lambert line.
Why did you choose Pratt & Lambert?
By partnering with Pratt & Lambert we are able to acquire upgraded MatchRite© software which puts us on par with specialty paint retailers for color accuracy and efficient service. The second part of the Pratt & Lambert choice is their extensive product offering that we can make available to our customers. With a broader range of products offered by P&L we can serve our customers with the right product every time given the quality, budget, and scope of any project.
Can we provide the service and support our customers need?
Yes! With the conversion of paint lines and an upgrade in our offering we are fully committed to staffing dedicated and knowledgeable paint specialists at each location with back up as needed. Our staff is being trained by the team at Pratt & Lambert and will continue to be supported by their local representative, Jolene Holzhauer. We have also retained the skills of an in-house paint expert with many years of industry experience to work between the stores and on call as needed to support our team.
Will we have sufficient inventory to supply the needs of our customers, especially during the busy season?
Yes! Between both of our stores we have committed more than $70,000 in paint inventory. Through our discussions with Pratt & Lambert, we have commitments from them to send a truck here as needed to fill special orders with a two day turnaround time. While a properly-managed, front-side inventory should keep you painting all season long, we can cover your big jobs pretty easily as well based on our buying cycle.
Are we going to keep any specialty products?
Yes! Based on our desire to be your one-stop paint source in Port Angeles, we have committed to several specialty product lines such as Dry Fall, Direct-to-Metal (DTM), and industrial coatings. We also have access to the complete line of epoxy based products or anything else offered by Pratt & Lambert.
Are we missing something?
If we are and you need it, please let us know right away.
We look forward to serving you and being your one stop shop for everything paint!
