Description
Product Overview
1/16" diameter, 7" long TIG welding electrode composed of tungsten alloyed with 2% of a rare-earth oxide. The specific oxide determines the electrode's performance characteristics and is indicated by its color. The primary types of 2% alloyed tungsten electrodes include: 2% Thoriated, 2% Ceriated, and 2% Lanthanated. General characteristics include superior arc stability, easy arc starts and re-ignition, higher current-carrying capacity, and compliance with AWS standards. They are compatible with both DC and AC welding processes.
- 2% Thoriated (Red): Contains 2% thorium oxide, excellent for DC welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and titanium.
- 2% Ceriated (Gray): Non-radioactive alternative, reliable arc starts and stability, effective for DC welding at lower amperage settings.
- 2% Lanthanated (Blue): Non-radioactive alternative, suitable for both AC and DC welding, excellent arc starting and stability, longer electrode life.
- Superior arc stability for smooth, consistent welds.
- Easy arc starts and re-ignition.
- Higher current-carrying capacity and lower burn-off rates than pure tungsten.
- Compliance with AWS standards for quality and safety.
- Compatibility with both DC and AC welding processes.
