What started as a personal observation of increasing numbers of unsheltered individuals in public spaces has grown into a full-fledged initiative. 4PA emerged from a deep concern for both the wellbeing of our community members experiencing homelessness and the preservation of our public spaces.
Through extensive research and collaboration with city officials, law enforcement, social services, and volunteers, 4PA has developed a balanced approach. They emphasize the importance of cleanup efforts, restoring city pride, and implementing plans for transitional housing. Their vision is holistic, recognizing that solving homelessness is not just about providing immediate shelter but also about long-term strategies that respect both the individuals in need and the community as a whole.

Marine Discovery Center: Nurturing Our Natural Heritage
The Marine Discovery Center is a beacon of education and environmental stewardship, poised to grace the Port Angeles waterfront. This center represents a collaborative effort between the Feiro Marine Life Center and the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary. By tracing our region’s waterways from the mountains to the deep ocean, it will tell the story of our connection to the marine life in the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary and the Strait of Juan de Fuca/Salish Sea.
This center is more than a facility; it’s a new chapter in our community’s narrative, highlighting the integral role of water in shaping our lives, history, and indigenous cultures. As part of the Port Angeles Waterfront Campus, alongside the Field Arts & Events Hall and the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, the Marine Discovery Center will not only educate thousands but also bolster our region’s economic vitality.
